Update: NPrinting Designer Excel Issue
At the beginning of October, Microsoft rolled out updates for many products within the Microsoft Suite, one of which was Microsoft Excel, causing an issue with the Excel editor for NPrinting Designer. The Qlik team is aware that this is occurring and is working to remedy the issue with a patch release.
In the meantime, as it is advised for many to not roll back Microsoft Excel to a previous working version, there is an additional workaround that can be applied to temporarily resolve this issue.
First, within the Display settings of your PC, under ‘Scale and Layout’, change the ‘change the size of text, apps, and other items’ to 100%. Next, within MS Excel, open ‘Options’, and within the ‘General’ tab, confirm that ‘Optimize for best appearance’ under ‘When using multiple displays’ is checked. Finally, on the executable file for NPrintingDesigner (NPrintingDesigner.exe), right click and select properties. Within Properties, go to the ‘Compatibility’ tab. On this tab, change the compatibility mode to be ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows 7’, check the ‘Disable fullscreen optimizations’, and open ‘Change high DPI settings’. Once in the new pop up window, check ‘Use this setting to fix scaling problems for this program instead of the one in Settings’ and check ‘Override high DPI scaling behavior’ confirming the drop down says ‘Application’.
Once all of these configuration changes have been made, run the NPrinting Designer and select the ‘Modify’ install option, assuming that you currently have NPrinting Designer installed. Once this installation completes, NPrinting Designer should be functioning as expected.
